Rebirth Collection

These rings are an exploration of the sand casting process. I melted down the bits of silver that have been accumulating in my studio over the past year of silversmithing and gave them new life in these pieces. A rebirth, if you will. 

Each ring is carved from wax and cast by hand. Then they are refined and polished. There are minor "imperfections" that reveal the process in which the pieces are made. Sometimes the molten silver takes new shape within the mold, redefining the contours and final form of the piece. I’ve learned to love this aspect of casting.
